The Headies Award is an annual ceremony to recognize the achievements in the Nigerian music industry. The award event was established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria. The 15th edition of the ceremony was held on 5th, September 2022 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta, USA.
The event was hosted by Hollywood Actor, Anthony Anderson, and Nollywood Actress, Osas Ighodaro. There were captivating live performances by notable Nigerian musicians like Ruger, Asake, Fireboy DML, Ladipoe, among others.
Wizkid and Tems emerged as the top winners of the 2022 Headies award. Wizkid won 5 awards at this year’s event, and he has been crowned as the highest recipient since the inception of Headies in 2006 – he has bagged a total of 20 Headies awards so far.
The most coveted award, the Next rated category was won by BNXN (Fka Buju) who received a Bentley car as a prize.
