On January 5th, 2024, with a single tweet, Lagos-based sensation Deborah Olaki, fondly called Mummy Zee (@_Debbie_OA), swiftly garnered social media’s spotlight.

In the post on X, Mummy Zee shared that she wakes up at 4:50 a.m. daily to cook for her husband, which brought in both criticism and commendation from netizens.

Deborah commented on Ms. Mashida’s post detailing a woman’s daily 5:00 a.m. routine to prepare lunch for her husband. For Debbie, this wasn’t an unfamiliar practice, having done the same for months herself. Her reason? Her husband mentioned sharing lunch with a colleague, prompting her early morning meal preparations.

“I’ve always been too lazy to wake up to prepare his lunch,” she said “but the day he told me that his colleague brought two spoons so that he can eat with her, that’s when I set my alarm for 4:50am”.

Despite initially receiving criticism for her post, everything turned around as she started getting commendations and appraisals from netizens. Nigerians who were intrigued by her loyalty, love for her husband, and family values sent her money and continuously solicited more funds on her behalf.

On the 6th of January, the NNPCL (Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited) presented her with a N200,000 voucher.

Similarly, Kuda Bank, a prominent fintech firm in Nigeria and the UK, pledged a generous gift of N2 million, expressing support through their official X handle with a tweet that read: ‘As your bank, we’re delighted to match the ₦2,044,133.94 balance in your screenshot. Keep doing you, Debbie!’

Moreover, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) gifted Mummy Zee and her husband two laptops and a year’s internet subscription, supporting their role in driving tech empowerment, especially for women, in Nigeria’s digital landscape.

Mummy Zee amassed a diverse array of gifts: maternity wear, toiletries, provisions, Netflix subscriptions, bill coverage, cryptocurrency, diapers, and family insurance in Oyo state.

She received phones, furniture, appliances, food, décor, and clothes, expanding her gifts for both herself and her husband. Notably, she received the coveted fridge she desired.

As of the latest update, Mummy Zee continues to receive an outpouring of cash and gifts.
